WELLNESS PRACTICES

Practices to decrease distress and increase well-being.

CULTURE CHANGE

Creating a respectful environment where individuals respect the beliefs and customs of their colleagues and work collaboratively to reach common goals.

Our mission at Courageous Workforce is to assist others to cultivate a workplace that embraces the principles of belonging, connection, and respect. We aim to instill hope and foster a positive environment grounded in service leadership. Courageous Workforce prioritizes the well-being of teams by providing comprehensive wellness practices that equip staff to thrive personally and professionally.

Our brains are wired for connection and fear. When we feel emotionally uncomfortable, or physically unsafe in our work environment, our brains create a story about what will happen. Anxiety builds as we wait for the “other shoe to drop.” Our thoughts might go to “Is my work valued?” “I am getting the project?” “Are they going to call me into HR for a reprimand?” …   That uncertainty builds and becomes distress making the workplace a psychologically unsafe place to be.

  • Assigned tasks feel impossible
  • Not enough time to complete assigned work
  • There is no way to get support to move forward.
  • Feedback on work is overwhelmingly negative.
  • Do not receive recognition.
  • Lack of position security.
  • Minimal or no benefits needed to meet family responsibilities.
  • Taking on more than be can finish
  • Lack of skill development to do complex work

At Courageous Workforce, we lay a pathway for promoting individual and organizational resilience and provide easy access to methods, practices and strategies that can be implemented on-the-job by individuals or groups in a variety of settings.

Our guidance is rooted in years of experience advancing trauma-informed and resilience approaches across numerous service sectors, including behavioral health, education, the non-profit industry and primary care.

Our practices are grounded in the understanding that the impact of distress and trauma can be positively affected by on-the-job resilience practices.
